Mike Mittens sits in Target’s parking lot. He looks down at his watch and reads the time of 1:58. Suddenly his attention is grabbed by the loud sound of tires screeching. He looks up and is almost blinded by the bright yellow Chevy Camaro that’s ripping into the parking lot at full speed. The sun bounces off of the chrome rims like mirrors.

Smoke spots Mike Mittens sitting in the rental car in the middle of the parking lot. He turns the car in that direction quickly, causing a loud squealing of the tires. The back of the car fishtails as he tugs at the wheel to regain control of it.

He’s overly excited. He’s like a kid with a new toy. All his prior cars have been used hoopties and not by his choice. He was never able to afford a brand new car. Actually he has never had a car over the price range of $2,000.00. To actually be in a position to buy the car of his choice, straight cash, he could never imagine. This 2010 Chevy Camaro before this morning was his dream car. Today his dream has come true.

He foolishly thanks God for the dope game. The dope game is teaching him to bring his dreams into reality. Never before would he believe that he could ever go to a car dealership and give them $40,000.00 cash money. Today he made himself a believer.

Mike watches as the Camaro pulls side by side of him. He watches carefully, not knowing who will get out. Nothing can be seen through the pitch black windows. The door opens wide and Smoke exits the vehicle.

Mike watches with frustration as Smoke walks toward him lugging a huge duffel bag. Mike looks around the parking lot attentively. He’s worried about the attention Smoke may have drawn to them. Young dumb motherfucker, he says to himself.

Smoke hops into the passenger’s seat. Pure excitement fills his eyes. His adrenaline rush is still at an all time high. “What’s goodie, big bruh? Two on the dot,” he smiles. Smoke places the bag onto the backseat. Mike watches him with disgust. “Three hundred and ninety cash just like the doctor ordered,” he smiles goofily. Smoke is so happy to be handing over this money. He feels the most satisfaction that he has ever felt in his life. He can’t believe that he’s been given this much responsibility and actually held it down successfully with no problems. For the first time ever he feels like he has a purpose in life.

In such a short time period his entire life has changed. He knows that he owes it all to the Mayor. Before meeting the Mayor he was a young foolish gangbanger with more power than he knew what to do with. The Mayor has taught him how to transfer that power into currency. In less than one week he has generated $460,000.00. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine him earning that amount of money.

“Youngin, that car don’t go no slower than that?” Mike asks with sarcasm.
